Click on the number 2 to use my "Flash" cards!
I wanted to create some flash cards for our school web site. I created a PowerPoint, used ZamZar to convert it to a flash file and uploaded the .swf file to our site. These files could also be "played" on any computer with a web browser without being uploaded to a site.
Here's the process I followed:
1. I created a simple PowerPoint slide show containing 10 slides with a shape and number on each slide.
2. Next, I went online to ZamZar and uploaded my saved PowerPoint file. Make sure to choose .swf as the file to convert to. You will also be asked your e-mail address. They will use this to notify you when your file is ready to download.
3. You will receive an e-mail when your file is ready to be downloaded. This can take a few minutes. Click on the link they send you and then click the download button.
Students and teachers can open these using a web browser without uploading them. This takes out the need to have PowerPoint on the machine. I could see this being used to create photo galleries, story books, and picture flash cards.
